Dr. Tonja L. Ringgold is the founder and President/CEO of EN-Sight. She is also presently Campus Dean at the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) Catonsville Campus.
Over the years Dr. Ringgold has been honored with such awards and recognitions as 2007 Oxford Round Table Scholar which entailed an onsite presentation of her research in Oxford, England at the 2007 Child and Adolescent Psychology and Counseling Forum held at the Harris Manchester College of the University of Oxford.
Other honors and recognitions include, being awarded the 2005 National Institute for Staff & Organizational Development (NISOD) Excellence Award Recipient, the 2005 & 2004 Who’s Who Among American College Teaches, 2005 Who’s Who Among American Women 25th Anniversary Edition, the 2004 BCCC College Excellence Award – Faculty Category, the 2002 BCCC Leadership Award for Years of Leadership and Outstanding Contributions to the Students at Baltimore City Community College, the 2001 A” National Teacher of the Year for Community College Psychology Instructors, which is the Teaching Excellence Award from the Society for the Teaching of Psychology (Division Two of the American Psychological Association), the 1999 Eastern Psychological Association Two Year College Collegiate Award, being inducted into Morgan State University’s Psychology Hall of Fame (Inaugural Induction) in 1999, receiving the 1998 Outstanding Faculty award at Baltimore City Community College and Governor and Mayor’s citations for Outstanding Community Service.
Dr. Ringgold has held such national positions as the National President for Psi Beta National Honor Society in Psychology for Community and Junior College, Psi Beta Eastern Regional Vice President (5 years), Eastern Regional Representative to the Community College Work Group, Psychology Partnership Project, and Eastern Representative to the APA affiliate Psychology Teachers at Community Colleges.
Dr. Ringgold is a member of the following professional organizations: American Psychological Association (APA), National Council on Black American Affairs (NCBAA), Psi Beta National Honor Society in Psychology for Community and Junior Colleges, Psi Chi National Honor Society in Psychology, Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society for Education, Council of Teachers in Undergraduate Psychology, Society for the Teaching of Psychology (Division 2 of American Psychological Psychology), Eastern Psychological Association, and a consultant for over six years to the College Board as a Reader/Grader for Advanced Psychology with Educational Testing Service.
Dr. Ringgold has devoted many of her community hours to the educational and athletic development of children through her active membership with the Northwood Football Association, where she served for several years as the associations first female Board of Directors President. Dr. Ringgold is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
